Ways to Improve your life.

Turn off the TV for an hour and read your Bible.

The Psalmist said of the blessed man, “His delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law, he meditates day and night” (Psalm 1:2). Trust me, I enjoy my sports, favorite shows and movies as much as anyone, but am I spending the same amount of time with the t.v. as I am with my Bible. It’s easy to say 1 more episode when our favorite show is on, but do we say one more Chapter with the same zeal when reading and studying our Bible.

Put down the phone and pray. .

It is crazy how much time we spend on our phones now that they don’t have cords and have a screen that can display almost as good as your t.v. “Pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17). “The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much” (James 5:16). Instead of reaching for your phone to play your favorite game or app, go to God in prayer. Thank Him for all that He has given, pray for the sick, pray for the lost, but pray. Pray a little more this week and I bet you will be glad you did.

Change the conversation from sports, weather, and politics to spiritual things.

“The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise” Proverbs 11:30). Again, I know this can be hard, but instead of small talk, spread the Good News. There are some people who may not know how to make that next step in their life or maybe they are afraid and to ask and you start talking about Jesus and now they are asking questions and wanting to know more. It could be simply talking about the Bible at dinner with the family. Or after if you ask how everyone’s day was, you ask them about Bible class and what they are learning. If we don’t talk about our faith, then how will anyone know how much it means to you.

Try these little things this week and see how much better you feel.
